Welcome to Hawk Eye Center in Houston, Texas

Ensuring crisp and clear vision is only one part of first-rate eye care. In addition to testing visual acuity, our eye doctors focus on the comprehensive and long-term health of your eyes and vision. Using the latest in optometric technology, such as digital imaging, we will inspect your eyes thoroughly with a comprehensive eye and vision assessment.

We stay up to date with the rapid progress of medicine and technology, so you benefit from precise diagnoses and optimal treatments. Many common eye diseases, such as macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma, do not present symptoms until a late stage. For early detection and effective medical treatment of eye disease, visit our highly qualified and skilled eye doctors regularly for a comprehensive eye exam.

Is it an Emergency?

Eye injuries, sudden vision loss, painful red eye, or flashes and floaters all warrant immediate evaluation. Call our office right away — we save time on the schedule for urgent eye care.

A large part of the examination is finding out what the patient is experiencing and determining the type of dry eye causing the symptoms. We examine the surface of the eye under a microscope to look at the quantity and the quality of the tear film. Additionally, we examine the eyelids and the glands inside the eyelids to insure they are healthy.

There are a wide range of treatments ranging from over the counter products to specialty laser procedures. Many times using artificial tears and vitamin supplements can help boost the tear film. There are prescription eye drops that can aid in tear production as well as laser procedures for patients with more advanced dry eye.

Of course – stay hydrated and making sure you consume enough water each day. Additionally, take breaks from your computer and smart phone. I recommend the 20/20/20 Rule – take a 20 second break every 20 minutes and look 20 feet away.
